Calling all Chicago community groups, non-profits and activists: Learn how to get your stories in the news. Our free, all-day workshop will cover using social media, pitching decision-makers at local media outlets, writing op-eds and more. Speakers include Jason Knowles, consumer reporter at ABC 7; Marissa Bailey, weekend anchor at CBS 2; Marcia Lythcott, Commentary page editor at the Chicago Tribune; and Mei-Ling Hopgood, a veteran journalist and associate professor at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
Admission to the Media Access Workshop is free of charge. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon refreshments will also be included. Free parking at Navy Pier will be guaranteed to the first 50 registrants.
This event is presented by the Chicago chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association with the support of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and WBEZ.
