Mary Anne Mohanraj is the author of Bodies in Motion, a Sri Lankan-American novel-in-stories and nine other titles. Bodies in Motion was a finalist for the Asian American Book Awards and has been translated into six languages.
Mohanraj is also a clinical assistant professor in UIC’s English department and associate coordinator of Asian and Asian American Studies. Her honors include the 2009 Breaking Barriers Award from the Chicago Foundation for Women and a 2006 Illinois Arts Council Fellowship. In addition, she is the executive director of DesiLit, an arts organization focused on South Asian literature.
