We’d like to extend a warm Chicago welcome to our summer interns, Junru Huang and Lee Jian Chung, who will be working at the Chicago Tribune and WBEZ – 91.5 FM.
Junru Huang is the winner of the 2013 David Ibata Scholarship. She just received her M.A. in Visual Communication (photojournalism and documentary photography) graduated from Ohio University, where she was an Enlight Fellow. Junru will be working with the Tribune’s online news operations and photo desk.
Junru has a B.A. in journalism from the Renmin University of China in Beijing and previously completed a six-month photojournalism internship with The Hutchinson News in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was also the managing editor of Mei, a self-published magazine with stories about Chinese-American women in New York City. Check out more of Junru’s work here.
J.C. was a reporter and producer for KBIA – 91.3 FM, the National Public Radio affiliate in Columbia, Missouri. In 2012, he was a reporter at The Business Station, an independent radio station covering business news and current affairs in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
