AAJA Chicago member Anupy Singla Gupta, author of The Indian Slow Cooker, is hosting a cocktail party for Chef Suvir Saran on Thursday, March 1. Proceeds from the event will go toward AAJA Chicago. Here is more information from Anupy:
Please join Sandeep and me in our home as we celebrate Chef Suvir Saran and his new book, Masala Farm: Stories and Recipes from an Uncommon Life in the Country.
New Delhi-born Saran made his name as executive chef with Devi restaurant in New York, and more recently as a participant on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters Season 3. If you watched the show, you know that Suvir could always be counted on to lend a touch of sensitivity and civility to the competition.
This evening will be an unprecedented opportunity to meet Suvir, get a copy of his new book, and have him sign it. The setting will be intimate – our home – and we are looking forward to hosting all of you.
As a long-time member of the Asian American Journalist Association, this event is also my way of giving back. Your ticket will include a book and a donation to this amazing non-profit organization dedicated to the support and advancement of Asian American journalists and fair and accurate coverage of the community.
Tickets cost $60 per person or $100 per couple; the cost includes a copy of Chef Saran’s new book. If you’re interested in attending, please RSVP to Anupy by February 28 to be added to the guest list. This promises to be a wonderful event with delicious food and drinks!
